Deadly Ponies Store, Ponsonby
This garden began with a lot of demolition. An old building extension was removed to create a central courtyard between the shop and the studio to the rear of the site. Permanent bench seating was included to encourage people to slow down and spend time in the garden. The raw materials of the herringbone brick paving and concrete bench seats reflect an element of craft which is synonymous with the Deadly Ponies brand. The mainly perennial planting is then used to soften the hard surfaces. A thoroughly enjoyable project with wonderful clients.
This project was completed 2019, however a garden is never really finished. Visiting the space each season provides an interesting record of just how much the garden has evolved over time.
