Mission Bay Pavilion, Auckland
This project involved working with Herbst Architects to develop a new restaurant and outdoor dining courtyard to a very important Heritage listed building in Mission Bay, Auckland. Constructed of basalt from nearby Rangitoto Island the Melanesian Mission building is one of the area’s most important pieces of architecture. Herbst Architects extended the buildings footprint with the role of the garden being critical to blend new and old architecture to the beach and greater surroundings.
Completed 2017. Original installation only – the restaurant has since re branded and the courtyard and planting has been altered considerably. The original project was featured on Gardenista.
