Maui, Hawaii (In Progress)

We are lucky enough to be working on a project in Maui, Hawaii with Herbst Architects. This incredible site is high on a volcanic slope with an elevation that provides amazing views out over the Island.

Movement around the site is achieved with little intervention, working with the natural contours of the land which follow lava flow paths. The planting scheme focuses on productivity with fruiting trees and vegetable gardens, as well as utilising native and endemic Hawaiian plants with the aim of restoring the site to that of a “cloud forest”.
